PIZHICHIL / SARVANGADHARA

Pizhichil and Sarvangadhara are practically the same procedure. In Sanskrit, “Pizhichil” means “compression”. Pizhichil is the squeezing of warm healing oil onto the patient’s body from a piece of tissue, which is periodically dipped into a vessel with oil. Sarvangadara is the same procedure, but oil is applied to the patient’s body from a small jug. Warm healing oil, like a trickle, spreads throughout the body and at the same time gently rubbed into the skin with special rhythmic movements. This is a very pleasant and very rewarding procedure. The special oil, which is made in the state of Kerala, contains extracts of 20 different plants, so the therapeutic effect of this procedure is very impressive.
